Wallside Windows is once again proud to sponsor Bookstock, Michigan’s biggest used book and media sale. Nearly 300,000 donated, gently used books and media items will go on sale at bargain prices beginning this weekend.
Bookstock kicks off Sunday, May 15, 2022 and runs until May 22 at Laurel Park Place in Livonia. Many books are only a dollar or two. You’ll find recent hardcovers for $4 and most children’s books are less than $3. Proceeds from the sale support education and literacy projects across Metro Detroit. All leftover books from Bookstock are donated to nonprofits and charities.
Bookstock is a family-friendly community event. It’s impossible to visit and not leave with a bag of books, records or movies. We challenge you to try it.
Part of our Wallside family, Roz Blanck, is one of the founders of Bookstock. The sale began nearly 20 years ago. Today it’s grown to a yearlong effort with hundreds of volunteers helping to collect and sort books. The sale puts back about $2 million into the community, she said.
Wallside Windows is proud to be a Bookstock booster. Roz says sponsors like Wallside help to defray the costs of putting on the event so more money can go toward literacy and education.
The sale is like a “treasure hunt,” she said.
Come find your treasures from May 15th to 22nd at Laurel Park Place in Livonia. For more information and a detailed scheduled, go to bookstockmi.org.
