When Jason Lampinen was around 6 years old, his dad, Mark Lampinen, gave him and all the boys on his block free mohawk haircuts. It’s still one of Jason’s favorite memories of his dad.

“The moms didn’t appreciate it too much,” said Jason.
Still, those memorable moments with our dads are what make Father’s Day – coming up this Sunday, June 18, 2017 - an especially meaningful holiday at Wallside Windows. A family-owned company since 1944, the relationships between fathers and sons grows strong here.
Martin Blanck, a respected father, grandfather and businessman, founded Wallside Windows more than 70 years ago in Detroit. One look at the company’s headquarters, in Taylor, Michigan, reveals many families with multiple generations represented in various positions.
Over time certain things haven’t changed. Martin Blanck treated his employees like family. His legacy lives on today through his sons and his grandson who all continue to foster a strong company culture at Wallside Windows.

Three generations in, the company manufactures and installs high-quality replacement windows for homeowners across the region. It also attracts loyal employees.
Mark Lampinen is a 29-year Wallside veteran, and his son Jason joined the company 8 years ago. Mark said he knew Jason would be a perfect fit for the Wallside team because, “the Blancks are a very honest, hardworking, loyal family - and that’s exactly what my son is.”
Jason said working at the same company as his dad allows them to relate to each other and swap advice. He said his dad taught him to “always do your best, live your life and find happiness.”
That passion for work proved to be contagious. Fourteen years ago, Mark convinced his friend Scott Lambert to join the Wallside family as a sales representative. Ten years later, Scott’s son Jonathan Lambert followed in his father’s footsteps. He started out as an installer and later moved on to sales for Wallside Windows.
Jonathan described his father as a role model and the person he aspires to be like most. “Working together has brought us closer together,” said Jonathan. “I love the conversations we have about work. He's always encouraging me to do the best I can and teaches me every chance he gets. His input is invaluable, and I am grateful every day that my dad and I are able to work together and be part of a family outside of our own.”
