Are you ready for some Thanksgiving football? We certainly are here at Wallside Windows!

For many football fans in southeast Michigan, Thanksgiving means watching the Detroit Lions on TV or listening to WJR while in the kitchen and then tucking into a turkey dinner with all the trimmings with family.

Tom Kearns, who was worked with Wallside for 26 years and currently works as a measure technician, takes his love of the Lions to the next level. The longtime fan and season ticket holder for about 22 years always attends the game on Turkey Day. He gathers friends to tailgate and meets up with family afterward.

And you won’t find typical eats at his tailgate — there are 6 to 8 turkeys with all the fixings. Friends will often donate a turkey or bring a dish to share.

“Anywhere up to 100 people show up to this,” says Kearns. It has been his Thanksgiving tradition for about 15 years.

For those who won’t be braving the elements this year - the high is forecast at 39 degrees Fahrenheit - to catch the Lions take on the Vikings, another tradition involves listening to the big game on WJR News Talk Radio 760 AM.
