Wallside’s COVID-19 safety procedures: What you can expect when we visit your home

UPDATED May 7, 2020

Dear Wallside Customer,

Here at Wallside Windows we hope your family is healthy and safe. We wanted to reach out with the latest update on how our team is adapting during the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout our community.

We continue to monitor recommendations and follow executive orders to protect your safety as well as that of our team and the entire community. With those as our top priorities and in line with the resumed activities under the governor’s orders, we have decided to resume field operations with heightened safety protocols in place.

FREE ESTIMATES

With a focus on safety, we are enabling you to schedule an estimate appointment in any way that makes you comfortable. Please schedule a time with us here and let us know whether you would like to have a representative provide a free estimate virtually or, if you prefer, they can provide an estimate at your home with our safety protocols in place.

INSTALLATION, Service and Measure Appointments

In accordance with the governor’s orders and effective May 7, we are resuming installation, service and measure appointments with safety protocols in place. At Wallside Windows, safety has always been the top priority of the teams who make your windows in our factory and those who install them in your home. We wanted to share some of the safety precautions we are taking so you can be prepared when our team works at your home:

BEFORE WE ARRIVE AT YOUR HOME

  • Our installers will phone you on the morning of your installation, between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. In addition to telling you when they expect to arrive, our crews will now do the following:

    • We will confirm that no one in your household is sick, quarantined or currently experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19.

    • We will confirm that all members of the household have not been exposed to an individual who has been confirmed to have COVID-19 or presumed to have COVID-19 within the past 14 days.

    • We will discuss the details of the job in order to minimize our time in your house.

    • We will tell you about our Safety Plan:

      • All members of the household should maintain a a safe social distance of at least 6 feet from the workers.

      • Any communication between you and the crew should be done via cell phone rather than face-to-face. If an in-person conversation is necessary, please have it outside.

    • We will create a plan for collecting any payment or signature that is needed and we will discuss your options for doing that in the safest way possible.  For safety reasons, we are discouraging our customers from paying in cash.

    • Finally, we will request that you prepare your home for the crew to the best of your ability. Please take these steps to make sure that our crew touches as little as possible in your home:

      • Remove furniture and other items around the windows

      • Open all interior doors to rooms that need access

      • Turn the lights on in the rooms where we will work

      • Remove the window treatments around your windows

ONCE WE ARRIVE AT YOUR HOME

  • When our crews arrive, you can expect us to be safe and clean and to install your windows using the plan worked out with you over the phone. You can expect the following from our Wallside Windows team:

    • We will wash or sanitize our hands as often as possible.

    • We will wear a face mask while inside your home as requested.

    • We will keep our distance at all possible times, maintaining at least 6 feet of space from others when possible.

    • For installations, you will see us use plastic sheeting and other safe protocols.

    • You will see us clean and disinfect frequently used tools and we will avoid sharing tools whenever possible.

These are extremely unusual times and we look forward to serving our customers the same as we have for over 76 years, with safety, quality and service as our top priorities. We appreciate your trust in us during this time. Thank you and stay safe and stay healthy!
