Here at The Factory, we only work with others who represent the best in the business. That goes for the glass we put in our Wallside Windows, too.
About 75 percent of a window’s exposed surface is glass, so the type of glass we choose has to be the best of the best. We use only energy efficient glass equipped with the industry’s lowest failure rate.
In any season, Wallside Windows uses Low-E glass to help your home stay at an optimal temperature. During the winter, Low-E glass keeps your house warm by blocking heat loss and reflecting heat back into your home. Warm glass surfaces also mean that the relative humidity of indoor air can be controlled and properly maintained.
It’s just as effective during the summer, too. The glass blocks heat gain from the hot weather outside. When it comes to the low-e glass we use at Wallside, we know it can help you save energy and money year-round, all while protecting your home.
This invention comes courtesy of our exclusive glass supplier, Cardinal Glass Industries.
Founded in 1962 in Minnesota, the company started out like we did - as a small business. And just like us, Cardinal Glass grew to become a leader in the industry by focusing on the customer and always adding value. The company’s longevity is a testament to its quality and standard of excellence, leading the industry in the development of residential glass for windows and doors.
Today, Cardinal Glass has grown to employ more than 6,000 people at 37 manufacturing locations across the country.
Over the years, Cardinal has worked with top window manufacturers by providing energy-efficient Low-E glass, including Wallside. The Factory began working with Cardinal in 2014 after our team looked at a number of suppliers to find one that would best fit. We sought a company that could provide the best quality and value to our customers, and one that could stand the test of our 35-year guarantee, according to Adam Blanck, Wallside’s chief of staff.
Since its founding more than 50 years ago, Cardinal has been at the forefront of making the “best glass in the world for people’s homes,” Adam said, adding the company invests in technology to make glass more efficient and longer lasting.
He also shared a story about how the Cardinal Glass impressed him.
“They are always thinking about the best way to do things. One example, on our first tour of their Fremont, Ind., plant, they discovered that a machine was not working properly but they couldn't quite figure out the reason. Instead of having a supervisor observe the machine all day, they put a video camera so they can quickly forward to the point at which it stopped working after the fact. They are just smart people who do things the right way!”
